What I Don’t Like About Rosetta Stone It’s not my understanding of immersion at all. Hearing phrases repeated over and over in a recording is much different than hearing natural, authentic speech from a native speaker, especially one that you can see. may seem a little childish to adult learners. I know their purpose is to help you pronounce individual syllables correctly but for an English speaker I don't see any value in repeating or equalizing sounds. Repeating the phonetic part of a word is only useful for sounds your mouth has not made before, such as certain Arabic letters or French. There is no cultural relevance which is a bit disappointing for an expensive language course that has been around since. This Phone Number List means they use the exact same photos in every course just the language changes. Same faces same background. From an immersion perspective it's at least nice to see images that are truly meaningful to the culture you're studying. This isn't a great option for speaking and writing skills. You can't actually come up with sentences or think about different ways to communicate on your own. So although English is not used there is no opportunity to express yourself in the language you are learning. I found the lack of English support a bit limiting.
